Meet The Family: Chris Morgan

Welcome to the Legacy blog. Today we will be starting off with our Meet the Family Series where you can learn all about our amazing staff family at Legacy.

Lets get the ball rolling with the unforgettable voice of Legacy himself, Chris Mooooooorgan!

What is your Name? Chris Morgan 

What is your role at Legacy? The Emcee 

Why did you want to join the Legacy Team? I came across Legacy by chance, and when I came to try out Emceeing for the first time I could feel there was a great friendly family vibe. The production value made it feel special and the cheer world was one that I had no clue about until then. 

Tell us something we might not know about you? I was the British Junior Wrestling National Champion when I was 16. 

What is your job when you are not at Competitions with Legacy? I’m a DJ, music producer, massage therapist and personal trainer 

What matters to you most in the world? Respect for others and looking after oneself.  

What do you love most about cheerleading and dance? The energy is great, and I love the dedication from all the teams. It’s been great seeing the teams grow over the years. 

What do you wish you’d learnt sooner in life? To let go of what others think of you, question everything, be respectful but don’t let anyone push you over. 

What’s the most important thing in life to your right now? Developing myself to express myself fully without fear of judgement. 

Name 3 people you would like to have over for dinner and why? Also what would you cook them? The Rock, Jim Carrey, Mike Tyson. Steaks and salad 

Do you have a ‘message’ in life and if so what is it? “A man must know when to leave the party”, “progress is not always linear”, “keep going, you’re doing well” 

What can you do today that you couldn’t do a year ago? Sing really high notes 

When was the last time you tried something new? Tried 2 person kayaking a few weeks ago. 

What do you love about Legacy?  Family vibes with the staff. Big community that I get to observe as an outsider without feeling like an outsider. 

How are you Living your Legacy today? I’m working on it but by making music and building my massage business. 

What book have you read lately that you’d recommend, and why? I read books about body language and human behaviour, I’m still half way through one by Chase Hughes 

If you could spend the day with anyone (past or present), who would it be and why? What would you ask them? The Rock, my childhood idol. “Do you smell what the Rock is cooking?” 

What is the most important failure you’ve had, and what did you learn from it? So many. But if I had to choose one is it’s better to go for it and get rejected than hold back or not take the chance 

Do you have an embarrassing moment you can share? Sooo many. Working at a bar and giving this girl I fancy the eye for about an hour, then when she finally comes to the bar and I try to speak to her I spill all 3 drinks she ordered over her. I then clean up the mess and start serving someone else to run away in my embarrassment only for another barman to tell me 5 minutes later that she still needs her 3 drinks. Gave her the drinks with extra steady hands the second time around. 

What truly makes you have a joyful laugh? Talking absolute rubbish with my old school friends 

Do you have any pets?  2 cats, Bootsy and Burt 

What was your first job? As a teenager putting leaflets through doors, then turned 18 and worked in pubs 

Is there a teacher or coach who inspired you?  My Jiu-Jitsu coaches were always great 

What do you believe is the most important thing to be a great leader? Compassion, respect for others, speaking the truth, doing your own thing, don’t make people follow, taking action, saying what you mean. The list can go on  

How do you want others to feel when they are around you, or because they know you? Relaxed
